ABOUT "PAPER, TAKE IT EASY"

CONTINUED FROM: Cinema
I've always had an interest in doing a film about the creative process and the struggles that come with it that many people don't see firsthand since they only see the finished product. Using my own experiences made this film write itself in a sense.

The title was inspired by one of my favorite songs, a song by The Eagles called "Take it Easy" (which I put as the end credits song, but got blocked because of copyright so I was forced to change it.)

Besides the satisfying chord progressions and the catchiness of the song a specific lyric resonated with me heavily which was "Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy." This lyric helped me determine the main character's motives and his personal identity. Henry the main character struggles with creating an original piece of work up with something original that he loses sight of what in my opinion is the most important thing in general. Enjoy yourself and do what makes you happy.

I've always had a desire to incorporate furniture into nature in my photography or short film.  And the dream sequence of Henry seeing himself at a desk in the middle of a field was the perfect way to do that.
Picture

Production only lasted two days since the script was five pages and many of the shots didn't involve complex dialogue between characters.

This film I felt was made to the best of its ability and it couldn't have been done without the contributions of Ethan Clarke and John Thorp.

John Thorp made all of the artwork used in this film and who also acted in the film following this project
"Second House on the Hill".
